Meeting Turkey's entire high-strength steel needs including armor steel without the need for external resources thanks to OYAK's strategic move, Miilux OY took its place at the EuroSatory Defense Industry Exhibition, which will continue until June 17 in Paris. Presenting armor steel solutions such as Protection 280T, 440T, 500T and 600T to global customers at the exhibition, the company is also promoting its armor component products in the global arena for the first time.
Miilux OY, Turkey's first and only domestic armor steel manufacturer, attended the EuroSatory Defense Industry Exhibition held in Paris from June 13 to 17. Miilux Protection 280T, Miilux Protection 440T, Miilux Protection 500T and Miilux Protection 600T stand out among the armor steel solutions exhibited by Miilux OY, which introduced its products manufactured in Manisa to the global markets for the first time.
Protection products debut in Paris
Participating in the EuroSatory Exhibition, an international exhibition for the land, air defense and security sectors, with its Protection products used in the defense and security sector, manufactured in Manisa, Miilux OY introduces its armor component products together with armor steel solutions such as 280T, 440T, 500T, 600T in the global arena for the first time. While Miilux Protection 280T has high toughness features, resistant to explosion and shock waves, which is preferred in armored vehicle designs such as battle tanks, armored combat, armored personnel carriers, Miilux's Protection 440T product is used in applications requiring resistance to puncture, impact and explosion on the side walls and floors of armored vehicles.
While Miilux Protection 500T is used in armored vehicles' parts that require shaping, in the sidewall, roof and turret parts, Miilux Protection 600T is preferred by armored vehicle manufacturers with the highest hardness due to its ability to be shaped in existing designs for add-on and stand-alone purposes without welding-twisting.
The target is to become a regional armor steel supplier
Stating that they will evaluate issues such as new sales opportunities, promotion and research opportunities for the global market, and cooperation with competent companies together with the exhibition, Miilux OY Turkey General Manager Yavuz Yeldan said, “Today, together with our Finland and Poland factories, we are capable of supplying armor steel products that our country needs with domestic plate. With the domestic armor steel production facility established by OYAK in Manisa, we are in a position to take a share from the European market as well. With the production of armor steel, which was not manufactured in Turkey before, we not only strengthened the sectoral development, but also took an important step that would protect our defense industry from foreign dependency and strengthen the Turkish economy. At the EuroSatory Defense Industry Exhibition in Paris, we had the opportunity to exhibit our products manufactured in Manisa in the global market for the first time.”
Yeldan indicated that as Miilux OY Turkey, they continue to work primarily on domestic demand, and said, “However, our export-oriented activities do not slow down. In the first stage, we plan to increase the share of our wear-resistant steel product group in the export market. In the coming period, we aim to double the annual production capacity of our Manisa factory in line with the demand of the market.”
