The 8th Erdemir Steel and Life Sculpture Competition, where steel meets art, was held under the theme “A Green Legacy for the Future: Zero Carbon”. Students from across Türkiye participated, creating imaginative works inspired by the zero carbon concept.
Erdemir, Türkiye’s leading integrated steel producer, once again brought together the art of sculpture and the strength of steel, which it has been producing for over half a century, through the Steel and Life Sculpture Competition. Held this year under the theme “A Green Legacy for the Future: Zero Carbon”, the competition was organized for the eighth time with the aim of contributing to art education and supporting young talents who will shape the future of art of sculpture. The winners of the competition, which was open to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of sculpture, received their awards at a ceremony held at the OYAK Mining and Metallurgy Conference and Exhibition Hall.
Following the Jury Panel's evaluations, a total of 35 works received awards in the categories of the top three, Honorable Mention, Jury Special Award, and Erdemir Special Award, while 17 other works were selected for exhibition.
In the competition, Niyazi Kerem Bengi from Anadolu University won first place with his work titled “Tiran”; Aydın Ata Arıtürk from Marmara University received second place with “Exhaustion”; and Muhammed Enes Yetişkul from Anadolu University took third place with “Coniferous Periapt or Cause o’ Luck”.
The awarded and exhibited works from the 8th Steel and Life Sculpture Competition will be on display at the OYAK Mining and Metallurgy Conference and Exhibition Hall, and later travel to Ereğli, İskenderun, and Divriği, where they will be presented to art enthusiasts.

Jury Special Award: Emirhan Enes Özkök, Vakkas Emre Yılmaz, Raşit Metehan Acehan, Özge Yelkenci, Yağız Akdoğan, Mehmet Ali Çetinkaya, Dilara Yerlikaya, Aziz Sargın, Azra Aysen Şahin, and İldeniz İhsan Paköz.
Erdemir Special Award: Elçin Yaren Çakırlar, Umay Özlem Çeri, Pervin İçöz, Betül Demirkazıksoy, Onur Kaya, Mustafa Demirel, Nadide Üster, Erim Caan, Bahar Kıyıklık, and Selin Varol.
Honorable Mention: Ergün Efe Günönü, Mücahit Diyar Ariz, Beyza Çaylak, Nurcan Kır, Efe Yaşar Baysal, Mısra Mırmır, Esra Eylül Kaya, Mükail Güloğlu, Doğukan Çiltaş, İsmet İlker Güler, Nisa Karaca, and Burcu Sağlam.
