Expanding its product and application portfolio, OYAK Securities signed a memorandum of understanding with the British company Invstr, which provides digital investment services via mobile app.

OYAK Securities signed a memorandum of understanding with the British fintech company Invstr Ltd. (Invstr), which offers digital investment services including stocks, foreign exchange and digital asset trading through the mobile app it has developed.

With this agreement, it is aimed for investors to reach various financial assets in Turkey through a single app in the first stage. According to the statement made by OYAK Securities, it is planned to cooperate in order to easily offer similar services to investors from the countries in the region in medium term. The products, services and apps to be developed will enable investors to increase their financial literacy levels, while contributing to the development of Turkish capital markets. Users will be able to access bank and investment accounts, debit and credit cards via the mobile app, and benefit from services such as insurance and 'Buy Now, Pay Later' (BNPL).

Invstr, a US-Registered Investment Advisor and holding a brokerage license, will provide access to investment instruments in Turkish capital markets for investors, both from Turkey and from countries where Invstr is used, through a user-friendly financial training and investment app that offers high user satisfaction experience. In this way, a very large segment of people without an access will be provided with the opportunity to access the Turkish capital markets.

Financial literacy training for young people

Headquartered in London, Invstr allows people who want to invest for a sustainable future, regardless of age, to take more conscious steps. Providing innovative financial services, the company offers educational content to increase the financial literacy levels of young people, and also provides users with the opportunity to try themselves with various demo portfolios. The app combines entertainment, education and competition elements, allowing its users to improve themselves and increase their confidence in investment.

Downloaded by more than 1.7 million people, the Invstr app is accessible from more than 200 countries around the world. In addition, approximately 2 million people used the Snap Mini Invstr application on the Snapchat platform to date.

Offering banking and brokerage services together with its licensed business partners, Invstr was selected as the "Fintech App of the Year" by the UK App Awards and the “App of the Year" by the UK Business Technology Awards in 2019. Kerim Derhalli, the founder of Invstr, received the “Tech Entrepreneur of the Year” award by Go:Tech Business Awards in 2019.
