Erdemir Steel and Life Sculpture Competition Exhibition is meeting with the art lovers at Karadeniz Ereğli 20/11/2022

Winners of the seventh Steel and Life Sculpture Competition organized by Erdemir, Turkey’s first and largest flat steel manufacturer in cooperation with the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, and worth to be exhibited have met with the people of Karadeniz Ereğli. Erdemir Steel and Life Sculpture Competition Exhibition can be visited at the Kdz. Ereğli Atatürk Cultural Center from November 29 to December 4.

Erdemir, one of OYAK Mining Metallurgy Companies, introduces steel, which plays an essential role in the construction and maintenance of a safer, more comfortable and a quality life, to art. 53 works that were deemed worthy of being awarded and exhibited in the 7th Steel and Life Sculpture Competition organized by Erdemir in cooperation with Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University will be exhibited at the Atatürk Cultural Center.

The exhibition hosted by Erdemir opened its doors with the opening ceremony attended by Karadeniz Ereğli District Governor Mehmet Yapıcı, Black Sea Region Commander Rear Admiral Niyazi Uğur, Karadeniz Ereğli Mayor Halil Posbıyık, Erdemir General Manager Niyazi Aşkın Peker and the district protocol. The exhibition will host its visitors between November 29 and December 4.

The theme of the competition this year is “Transformation”

This year, undergraduate and graduate students in the sculpture departments of 11 different universities applied to the competition with a total of 102 works. As a result of the jury assessment, 23 works were deemed worthy of awards and 31 works were found worthy of exhibition.

In the competition, which the theme was set as “Transformation”, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University student Ömer Kasımoğlu had won the first prize with his work “Self Sabotage”, while Muzaffer Tuncer from the same university had ranked second with his work “The Conversion” and Aziz Sargın from Anadolu University had ranked third with his work “Untitled”.
