Phishing is an abbreviation created by the combination of the words "password" and "fishing". In this method, fraudsters aim at obtaining critical information through establishing a trust environment by reaching the user from various channels.
In Phishing, the methods of sending e-mails, text messages, making phone calls or establishing fake internet sites can be used. The attacker claims that the e-mail or text message sent to the user was sent by an official organization. In order to make it believable, they may have prepared internet pages, emails and text messages, containing appropriate typefaces, wording, various images or even some of your personal information. After the user's trust is gained in such manner, the user is asked for critical information via a link provided in the e-mail or text message.
Similarly, in case of telephone calls, the sound of police radios, printers, etc. can be imitated, and heard in the background.
