Erdemir, Türkiye’s largest flat steel producer, has taken another step in line with its corporate social responsibility approach to contribute to social life in the region where it operates. By signing a protocol with the Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Karadeniz Ereğli District Directorate of Youth and Sports regarding the use of its football stadium, Erdemir has further expanded the opportunities it offers for local events.
The signing ceremony, held on February 20, 2026 at Erdemir’s Headquarters, was attended by Kdz. Ereğli District Governor Fatih Yılmaz, Zonguldak AK Party Member of Parliament Saffet Bozkurt, Erdemir General Manager Şaban Yazıcı, OYAK Mining & Metallurgy Group Corporate Communications Director Ayper Topcu, Zonguldak Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Halil Hacı, Karadeniz Ereğli District Director of Youth and Sports Adem Çelik, as well as officials from the Provincial and District Directorates of Youth and Sports.
Under the protocol, the use of Erdemir Stadium has been granted to the Karadeniz Ereğli District Directorate of Youth and Sports for a period of three years. Throughout the term of the protocol, the stadium will host training sessions, amateur league matches, athletics and archery events, as well as national holiday celebrations, in accordance with the planning of the Karadeniz Ereğli District Directorate of Youth and Sports.
Unless one of the parties provides written notice at the end of the three-year term, the protocol will automatically remain in effect for an additional two years and may be extended annually by mutual agreement for up to a total of ten years.
Erdemir will continue to enhance social benefit—particularly in Karadeniz Ereğli where it operates—and to work towards a sustainable future.
