In parallel with the Middle Corridor, the Zangezur Corridor and the Development Road Project—which strengthen Türkiye’s potential to become a regional logistics hub—OMSAN Logistics is shaping its new-term vision around “sustainable growth” and “integrated transportation.” With the activation of the Middle Corridor stretching from China to Europe, the completion of the Zangezur Corridor, and the launch of the Development Road Project connecting the Persian Gulf to Türkiye, the volume of trade passing through Türkiye is expected to multiply in the coming years.
New projects that will enable uninterrupted trade flow between Asia and Europe will elevate Türkiye’s logistics capacity on a regional scale. These corridors and initiatives will not only reinforce Türkiye’s position as a transit country but also lead to the reshaping of production and logistics hubs.
OMSAN Logistics Chairman Ergun Arıburnu stated: “These projects are strategic infrastructures that will support not only Türkiye’s transit capacity but also its exports and industrial production. In line with this vision, we are strengthening our integrated transportation solutions. New transport routes are turning Türkiye into a strategic logistics hub along both east–west and north–south axes. As OMSAN, we aim to convert this potential into added value by offering integrated solutions across rail, sea and road transport. With over 800 owned vehicles, 3,500 solution partners and more than 200,000 square meters of warehousing space, OMSAN Logistics provides end-to-end solutions in road, air, rail and sea transportation. With our digitalization and sustainability-oriented investments, we aim to close 2025 with a revenue of 600 million dollars.”
Arıburnu noted that the global logistics sector reached an economic volume of approximately 10 trillion dollars as of 2024, becoming one of the world’s most dynamic industries. He added that, driven by the expansion of e-commerce, diversification of supply chains and increased green logistics investments, the sector is projected to reach 13 trillion dollars by 2030.
Referring to the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2023 report, Arıburnu highlighted Türkiye’s upward trend, ranking 38th among 160 countries. He stated that with new projects coming online, Türkiye is expected to rank among the top 25 globally by 2028. Arıburnu added: “Türkiye, which generates around 40 billion dollars in logistics and transportation service exports, also owns one of Europe’s leading fleets in road, sea and air transportation.”
Emphasizing that green logistics and sustainable transportation are no longer optional but a necessity, Arıburnu continued:
“As OMSAN Logistics, creating an environmentally responsible logistics ecosystem is our top priority. We reduce carbon emissions by increasing the share of rail and sea transport in our operations. By 2030, we are committed to keeping our carbon footprint below the level that would result from our significantly expanding business volume. In this context, we are both enhancing operational efficiency and contributing to Türkiye’s green transformation vision.”
