In 2021, OYAK made major investments in the food sector, which is strategically important to OYAK in line with its vision of sustainable growth.
OYAK acquired Sagra, the 87-year-old well-established brand in the Turkish chocolate products market, as well as the Tadelle, Sarelle, and Gol brands. Sagra, which has a production facility with high health and safety standards, realizes its production in Ordu province in the Black Sea Region, home to the richest hazelnut orchards in the world. Operating on a 60 thousand m² area with high standards, the factory has an annual production capacity of 30 thousand tons.
Having made a strong entry into the Turkish food sector, which exceeds TL 500 billion in size, with the acquisition of Sagra, OYAK made its second strategic move in the sector by acquiring Tamek, a 100% Turkish food producer founded in Bursa in 1955. Holding FSSC, ISO 9000, and Halal certificates, TAMEK produces for domestic and international customers at its facilities in Bursa-Karacabey and Salihli-Manisa, which are built on an area of 182 thousand m² with a total capacity of 208 thousand tons. With a wide product portfolio of over 300 different varieties and packaging types in nine categories, TAMEK exports to 32 countries in addition to its domestic operations.
Additionally, with the vision of becoming Türkiye's largest sales and distribution platform in 2021, SATEM was established on May 17, 2021 to increase the market share of the brands under the roof of OYAK Food and to integrate distribution activities, making them available at the most effective sales points with cost optimization.
