In 2021, OYAK made major investments in the strategically important food sector in line with its vision for sustainable growth.
OYAK added Sagra, a brand with an 88-year heritage in Türkiye’s chocolate products market, to its portfolio, along with its well-known brands Tadelle, Sarelle, and Gol. Sagra operates a high-standard production facility located in Ordu, in the Black Sea Region, home to the world’s richest hazelnut orchards. The factory, built on an area of 60,000 m², has an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons.
With the acquisition of Sagra, OYAK entered Türkiye’s food sector, which exceeds 1 trillion TL in market size. Its second strategic move in the sector came with the acquisition of TAMEK, a 100% Turkish food producer founded in 1955 in Bursa. TAMEK, which holds FSSC, ISO 9000, and Halal certifications, operates in Karacabey-Bursa on a 124,000 m² site, with total facility capacity of 221,000 tons, serving both domestic and international markets. With a broad product portfolio of over 300 varieties and packaging types across 8 categories, TAMEK exports to 32 countries in addition to its domestic operations.
Furthermore, aiming to become Türkiye’s largest sales and distribution platform, OYAK established SATEM on May 17, 2021, under the OYAK Food umbrella. SATEM’s mission is to increase the market share of OYAK's food brands, integrate distribution operations, and optimize costs to ensure product presence at the most effective sales points.
SATEM provides services through its sales, trade marketing, and operations departments, reaching various sales channels including national and local retail chains, traditional sales outlets, out-of-home consumption points, e-commerce platforms, and export customers.
In addition to its sales and distribution organization, SATEM continues to add value to the iconic Sagra brand through its “Sagra Café since 1936” locations. Operated under Concept Retailing, these cafés are expanding
