8.5 Million Tons of Crude Steel Production
Global crude steel production reached 1.84 billion tons in 2024. Türkiye's total crude steel output for the year stood at 36.9 million tons.
In the same period, OYAK Mining Metallurgy Companies produced 8.5 million tons of crude steel. Their 2024 liquid steel production was 8.743 million tons, while flat finished product output totaled 7.120 million tons and long finished product output reached 965 thousand tons.
Iron ore and magnesite production totaled 2.535 million tons. The companies exported 1.540 million tons of finished products, including 1.526 million tons of flat products and 14 thousand tons of long products, accounting for 19% of total sales. These exports were delivered to 35 countries for flat products and 7 countries for long products.

Erdemir is Türkiye’s first and largest integrated flat steel producer and remains the sector’s consistent leader. İsdemir is the only and largest integrated facility in Türkiye that produces both long and flat steel. As of the end of 2024, OYAK Mining Metallurgy Companies employed 12,366 people, placing them among the top private sector employers in Türkiye. Erdemir and İsdemir are listed on Borsa İstanbul (BIST) and are included in the Sustainability Index, which features companies with top-tier corporate sustainability performance. Erdemir has been listed since November 2015, and İsdemir has been included since its first evaluation in November 2019.
