Türkiye’s electricity energy installed capacity and generation
Data from 2023 indicates that total electricity consumption in Türkiye was 325 billion kWh, consistent with the previous year.
By the end of 2023, the total installed capacity of licensed and unlicensed generation in Türkiye reached 106,635 MW, distributed as follows: natural gas 25,351 MW, imported coal 10,374 MW, domestic coal 11,440 MW, wind 11,790 MW, hydroelectric 31,962 MW, solar 11,312 MW, geothermal 1,691 MW, and other technologies 2,715 MW. The increase in installed capacity compared to 2022 was 2.53%. By the end of 2023, the total installed capacity of unlicensed power plants, mostly solar power plants, reached 10,355 MW.
In 2023, Türkiye's total electricity generation amounted to 320.9 billion kWh, with exports of 2.1 billion kWh and imports of 6.1 billion kWh. Natural gas power plants accounted for 20.7%, hydroelectric power plants 19.9%, imported coal power plants 22.4%, lignite power plants 12.6%, and other power plants 24.4% of total electricity generation in 2023.
In 2023, the average Market Clearing Price was TL 2,190/MWh, a decrease of approximately 13% compared to 2022.
One of Türkiye's largest international investments
İSKEN, one of OYAK's companies operating in the electrical energy sector with a generation license, is one of the largest international investments in the sector in Türkiye and one of the largest thermal power plants in Türkiye.
Petroleum products trade and LPG sector
On February 22, 2020, Güzel Enerji Akaryakıt A.Ş. (TotalEnergies Stations) and Milan Petrol San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (M Oil), operating in the petroleum products trading sector, joined OYAK Companies.
Operating in Türkiye since 1992, TotalEnergies Stations is the 4th largest fuel company in Türkiye with 626 stations. M Oil has been operating in the fuel and lubricants sector since 1996 with 299 stations.
As of August 10, 2020, these two companies merged and continue their activities under the roof of Güzel Enerji Akaryakıt A.Ş. with their own brands. The brands under the Güzel Energy brand rose to 4th place in total market share by the end of 2023.
With the share transfer agreement signed on June 4, 2020, Likitgaz Dağıtım ve Endüstri A.Ş., operating in the LPG sector, joined OYAK Companies. This company, which incorporates the “Milangaz” brand, continues to operate in the field of LPG trade and retailing.

OYAK Energy companies own one of the largest power plants in Türkiye, with a total installed net electricity generation capacity of 1,341 MWm/1,308 MW. They meet approximately 3% of Türkiye's total electricity demand.
In the petroleum products trade sector, Güzel Energy serves as the 4th largest fuel company in Türkiye with 925 stations.
In the LPG sector, Milangaz operates in the autogas, cylinder gas, bulk gas, and wholesale segments, providing services with 18 cylinder filling facilities, 5 marine terminals, 137,500 m³ of LPG storage capacity, more than 700 autogas stations, and nearly 1,100 cylinder dealers and sales points.
With its “Energy Management” approach, the company provides electricity supply and other related market services to customers in the wholesale and retail electricity markets.
As part of Türkiye's energy transformation journey, OTOJET Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. has obtained a “Charging Network Operator” license and is engaged in the installation and operation of vehicle charging stations throughout Türkiye.
Additionally, consultancy services are provided to OYAK Companies in the field of renewable energy, particularly solar energy.
