OYAK’s logistics strength expands across four fronts
16 Eylül 2026

Spearheaded by OMSAN Logistics which was selected to handle the logistics operations for COP31 OYAK is expanding its logistics capabilities across road, rail, port, and maritime sectors. This growth is driven by the combined efforts of OMSAN Logistics, OMSAN Maritime, OYAK Port, and Port Yarımca.
The decision to entrust OMSAN with the logistics operations for the 1 million square meter event area in addition to managing international transport for this global gathering demonstrated the company’s competence in executing operations that demand a high level of precision and coordination.
Achieving a turnover of approximately 12.3 million TL per employee, OMSAN Logistics stands out in the sector by transforming its strong human capital, technology investments, and operational capabilities into high added value.
Ergun Arıburnu, Chairman of the Board of OYAK Logistics Companies, stated that scale in logistics cannot be measured solely by the volume of cargo transported, adding, "The true measure in logistics is the magnitude of the responsibility entrusted to you."
Logistics, positioned as a key area of strategic growth in OYAK’s 2030 vision, is entering a new phase of expansion through the integrated structure formed by OMSAN Logistics, OYAK Port, Port Yarımca, and OMSAN Maritime. OYAK is expanding its logistics strength spanning road, rail, ports, and seas on four fronts, with a focus on technology, operational efficiency, and reliability.
The selection of OMSAN Logistics a central player in this growth to manage the logistics operations for COP31 serves as a significant indicator of the confidence placed in both the company and OYAK’s logistics capabilities. The fact that OMSAN was entrusted with the logistics operations within the 1 million square-meter event area in addition to the international transport required for this event demonstrated the company's competence in operations demanding a high level of precision and coordination.
OMSAN entrusted with logistics for COP31, one of the world’s most important events
Entrusting OMSAN Logistics with the logistics responsibilities for one of the world’s most significant international eventswhich Türkiye is set to host demonstrates the public trust placed in the company. At COP31, OMSAN will shoulder not only a massive logistics operation but also a strategic responsibility directly linked to Türkiye’s international reputation.
Reaching a turnover of approximately 12.3 million TL per employee, OMSAN Logistics stands out in the sector by transforming its strong human capital, technology investments, and operational capabilities into high added value.

Ergun Arıburnu: “We continue to embody trust”
Ergun Arıburnu, Chairman of the Board of OYAK Logistics Companies, stated that scale in logistics cannot be measured solely by the volume of cargo transported, saying, “The true measure in logistics is the magnitude of the responsibility entrusted to you. We view the selection of OMSAN Logistics for an international-scale event like COP31 as a significant indicator of the trust we have built over the years and our operational competence. We continue to stand as a symbol of trust in our sector.”
Emphasizing that OYAK has built its logistics structure on a holistic growth model, Arıburnu said, “We are not talking about the growth of four separate companies OMSAN Logistics, OYAK Port, Port Yarımca, and OMSAN Maritime but rather a single logistics power growing on four fronts. Our goal is to transform Türkiye’s strategic location into a logistics advantage.”
Ergun Arıburnu added, “In the logistics of the future, competitive advantage stems not from strength in a single mode of transport, but from the ability to offer road, rail, port, maritime, warehousing, and technology services to the customer as a unified solution. With this mindset, we are positioning OMSAN as the logistics company of the future.”
Regarding OYAK Port which is enhancing its operational capabilities through investments in digitalization and AI-supported smart crane systems Ergun Arıburnu remarked, “Ports are the gateway to the world for a robust logistics system. Without a strong port, any claim to logistics strength remains incomplete.”
"We will expand the maritime link of our integrated logistics chain"
Ergun Arıburnu stated, “The future lies in the seas. We do not view our road and rail capabilities, ports, and maritime transport in isolation from one another. Through OMSAN Maritime, we will expand the maritime link of our integrated logistics chain.”
Summarizing the strategy for the upcoming period with the words “integration, technology and trust” Ergun Arıburnu outlined OYAK’s logistics vision as follows:
“We must transform Türkiye’s geographical advantage into economic and strategic power. This path runs through robust railways, high-capacity ports, efficient maritime connections, and the integration of technology managed road networks. Türkiye will not merely be a transit hub; it will become a logistics base. As OYAK, we aspire to be one of the driving forces behind this transformation.”
Ergun Arıburnu added, “Logistics is not merely a country’s trade infrastructure; it represents the competitiveness of its industry, the resilience of its economy, and its ability to access global markets. Our goal is not simply to transport more cargo; it is to connect the value Türkiye produces to the world and to transform our country into a center where cargo is managed, rather than just a place it passes through.”
OMSAN Logistics: An integrated force connecting Türkiye to the world
Operating in road and rail transport, automotive logistics, industrial transport, warehousing, and international operations, OMSAN Logistics handles 13 percent of Türkiye’s rail freight transport.
The company is preparing to add 10 new locomotives to its fleet an investment of approximately $40 million while also boosting its road transport capacity through an investment of around 500 million TL in 78 truck tractors.
OMSAN Logistics is also accelerating its growth outside Türkiye. The company has achieved a 44 percent market share in automotive logistics and a 25 percent share in industrial gas transport in Morocco.
High capacity from OYAK Port and Port Yarımca
With a handling volume of 21.72 million metric tons and a 26.96 percent share of the Turkish market in general cargo and solid bulk cargo, OYAK Port constitutes a key pillar of OYAK’s logistics infrastructure.
On the other hand Port Yarımca, operated through OYAK’s partnership with NYK, spans an area of 235,000 square meters and boasts an annual handling capacity of 780,000 vehicles, a storage capacity of approximately 20,000 vehicles, and an indoor parking capacity for 13,500 vehicles.
Having secured a market share of approximately 20 percent in Türkiye’s Ro-Ro sector by handling 428,119 vehicles in 2025, Port Yarımca targets a 25 percent share for 2026. Its growth plans include adding 40,000 square meters of new indoor parking space and integrating bonded warehousing and value added services to meet rising demand.
OMSAN Maritime: OYAK’s new growth area in logistics
Having undergone restructuring to become a standalone entity, OMSAN Maritime is positioned as one of OYAK’s new growth areas within the logistics sector.
OMSAN Logistics’ 13% share in rail transport and 44% share in automotive logistics in Morocco, OYAK Port’s handling volume of 21.72 million tons, Port Yarımca’s annual capacity of 780,000 vehicles, and OMSAN Maritime’s new growth initiative collectively demonstrate the scale of the integrated strength OYAK has established in logistics.
