Süleyman Savaş Erdem, who has served as General Manager of OYAK since 2016, has handed over the reins to Prof. Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş. In his first statement, Yalçıntaş expressed his honor at being appointed General Manager of OYAK, stating, “Assuming a role in an institution with such a deep-rooted legacy is not only a professional step for me, but also a matter of loyalty and service.”
Prof. Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş, recognized for his extensive experience in academia, business, and professional organizations, has taken over as the new General Manager of OYAK. At the handover ceremony held at OYAK’s Headquarters, Prof. Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş officially assumed the role from Süleyman Savaş Erdem.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Yalçıntaş conveyed his gratitude and sense of responsibility upon being appointed by the OYAK Board of Directors. Emphasizing that OYAK is one of Türkiye’s most respected and strategic institutions, with its nearly 65-year history, robust financial structure, sustainable investment approach, and unwavering commitment to its members, Yalçıntaş stated, “Taking on such a role in an organization with this level of institutional depth is not merely a career move for me, but a duty of loyalty and service.”
Prof. Dr. Yalçıntaş affirmed that they would act in line with the vision of the OYAK Board of Directors, upholding corporate values, and adopting a more transparent, participatory, and efficient management approach, saying:
“As we take firm steps to further strengthen OYAK, our goal will be to create greater value for both our members and the national economy. Increasing the benefits provided to our members, expanding our institution’s contributions to the country’s economy, and ensuring that OYAK moves forward with even greater momentum will be among my top priorities. I sincerely believe that together, we will guide OYAK toward a brighter future.

Who is Prof. Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş?
Murat Yalçıntaş graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boğaziçi University. He completed a joint master’s program in Business Administration at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Boston University and earned his PhD in Business Administration from Istanbul University. Yalçıntaş began his professional career at the Islamic Development Bank and has held senior roles at various national and international institutions, including serving as President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.
Currently conducting academic research at Istanbul Commerce University as a full professor, Yalçıntaş has also held notable roles in the business world. He served as CEO and Board Member of BMC Automotive between 2021 and 2024 and also held a Board Member position at TOGG.
Prof. Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş has authored numerous academic publications in areas such as strategic management, leadership, innovation, and game theory. He has published four books based on his expertise in management science and professional experience. Recipient of several international awards, Yalçıntaş is fluent in English and French.
